I can’t express how good it feels to have successfully completed our school supply mission. With coordination between the U.S., German Coalition, Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police, we seamlessly visited, supplied and enjoyed our morning in Mazar-e Sharif. Over seven hundred students both male and female along with over thirty teachers and additional supplies for the Principal were delivered. The Afghan’s were gracious and grateful and express their gratitude with numerous thank you’s and hugs. It was a fantastic day.

Everything is lining up for our drop. We have two schools identified. We will visit the school with the most need first. I should have pictures of the school in a week or so for the website. The school has a larger enrollment than I imagined but with the help of the coalition forces we should be able to pull it off. Thank you all for your help.

Thanks to the Ellsworth High School’s “Just Do Something” Club, as well as the Ellsworth Middle School and Tanya Brion’s Students, the school supplies are boxed up and being shipped out. I should be receiving the first boxes in the next week or so. I will be planning the first HA (humanitarian assistance) mission for these supplies for the early part of April. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well, I’ll take many pictures for you. Thank you to all that have contributed and participate in the initial and ongoing phases of this mission. We are getting closer to reality. Thank you to Eric Lindquist of the Eau Claire Leader Telegram Newspaper for his wonderful article that chronicles our efforts. Let’s not sit back and watch, but continue to tell others and help as many of these children as possible before I leave the country. Thank you all.

The Ellsworth High School “Just Do Something” club along with Mrs. Tanya Brion’s students have begun to separate and package supplies to be sent to me here in Afghanistan. Anne Pechacek and the club plan on having another supply drive in the near future to increase the number of Afghan students we can assist. Thank you to all that have participated thus far and we look foward to hearing from many more in the future.

Well I have figured out how to blog, now it’s all down hill from here. Thank you Mat for getting this up and running. I have just completed updating the new contributors list, so hopefully that will be up in the future. I have more pictures that I would like to have put up, but I know it’s a slow process. I will be running missions in the near future in order to better prepare myself for February-March when I start doing deliveries for real. I hope to hear from all of you out there. Welcome aboard.
